This January’s Master Paintings and Sculpture Part II live sale offers works dating from the 12th to the 19th centuries. It includes several choice early Italian paintings; rediscovered works by Sodoma, Giandomenico Tiepolo and Giovanni Giorgio Lascaris, called Pyrgoteles; and important French academic eighteenth- and nineteenth-century terracotta sketches for life-size marble statues. A selection of elegant view paintings and evocative still lifes by Willem Claesz. Heda, Cornelis de Heem, and Frans Snijders are among other highlights.
