The sale offers nearly 140 works of antique and modern paintings and calligraphy. The classical section presents selected dozens of pieces of Ming and Qing painting and calligraphy mostly from private hands, including the Yee-Ming Kuo Collection and several Japanese private collections. Depicting subjects suited to the sale’s theme, most of the works have good provenance and presentation. The modern section offers a series of private collections from Asia and Europe, highlighting Zhang Daqian works from the collection of Zhang Xinrui and a wonderful collection from a Japanese calligrapher.
