Masterpieces from the Nyingjei Lam Collection

These twelve lots (150-161) were collected by the American&nbsp; exhibition organizer Jack Masey (1924-2016) while based in New Delhi in the 1950s.

The highlight of the sale is the Nyingjei Lam collection, sold to support Asian charitable projects, led by the sublime 15th century figure of Milarepa. There is a fine selection of thangkas, including mandalas of Nairatmya and Shri Devi, and a magnificent large 15th century image of Vaishravana. The highlight of the Indian art section is an exquisite Pala inlaid figure of Avalokiteshvara. The sale also includes two collections of Indian stone with early provenance and a carefully selected group of Indian miniature paintings.
