Robert Alice Biography
Based in London, Robert Alice, born in 1995, is a multidisciplinary artist driven by our digital histories. Known for his Block series, Alice embeds digits of hexademical code into the surface of his paintings, glittering from one perspective and laying hidden from others. Exploring the fragility of a post digital age is central to Alice’s work, as decentralized blockchains continue to reshape our social and financial landscapes.
With works placed in prominent collections such as the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Robert Alice is celebrated for his voice in the digital space. Most recently, Alice co-produced the first academic conference on NFTs at the University of Oxford in 2022, and co-authored Taschen’s 2024 book, On NFTs.
