Pilar Wiley

Los Angeles contemporary artist Pilar Wiley’s ceramics embody both design and history. Citing mythology and southwestern African pottery as inspirations, Wiley’s tantalizing vessels explore the possibilities of patterning. A visual arts graduate from Brown, Wiley spiritual art practice is facilitated by the visual iconography and her repetitive making process. Her commitment to vessels led to Wiley’s more recent exploration of lighting and ceramic lamps, also featuring her signature abstract designs.
