I Nyoman Masriadi

I Nyoman Masriadi (born 1973) is an Indonesian painter widely regarded as one of the leading figures of contemporary Southeast Asian art. His career took off in the late 1990s, characterized by paintings featuring muscular, caricature-like figures that satirically depict Indonesian societal issues. These figures, often drawn from Balinese mythology and global popular culture, are employed to critique socio-political conditions, making Masriadi's work both humorous and deeply thought-provoking.
