CONNERSMITH

F ounded in 1999, in Washington, DC, by Leigh Conner and Dr. Jamie Smith, CONNERSMITH specializes in Contemporary and Post-War Art. CONNERSMITH promotes art that contributes to important art-historical movements, with a particular focus on innovations in color-field abstraction. For two decades CONNERSMITH has encouraged vital new experimentation in abstract imaging presenting seminal work by renowned digital light artist Leo Villareal and supporting his installations at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC and the Smithsonian Institution’s Renwick Gallery. Digital innovations find context within the gallery’s historical color field exhibitions featuring works by Morris Louis, Kenneth Noland, Alma Thomas, Gene Davis, Howard Mehring, Thomas Downing, Sam Gilliam and Paul Reed.

Gray

F ounded in Chicago in 1963, Gray is located in both Chicago and New York and works with prominent private and institutional clients worldwide as a leading dealer of Modern, Post-War and Contemporary American and European art. The gallery offers artwork of exceptional quality and provides expert counsel in all areas of the field, as well as represents and exhibits emerging and well-established artists of international recognition. With a reputation for excellence, integrity and discretion, Gray provides high level service and market expertise to new and long-standing collections, advising on the acquisition and evaluation of works of museum quality.

Jessica Silverman

J essica Silverman is a San Francisco-based gallery with an international reputation for building artists’ careers and working with leading collectors, keen on value-adding provenance. The gallery’s mission is to support artists whose relevance to contemporary culture is such that museums and other public institutions want to embrace their work. Silverman was introduced to art by her grandparents, Lila and Gilbert Silverman, who were the leading collectors of Fluxus in America and whose collection now resides principally in MOMA New York. She received a BA in Studio Art and an MA in Curatorial Practice before founding her gallery in 2008. Silverman is currently renovating a new gallery space on historic Grant Avenue, which she plans to open in fall 2020.

Marc Straus

E stablished in 2011, MARC STRAUS is a contemporary art gallery in the Lower East Side of New York, occupying a fully reconstructed four-story historical building on Grand Street.

The gallery identifies and fosters some of the best international talent, representing 20 artists from many different countries. Additionally, the gallery has taken a position of showing older artists who have not for decades, or in some cases ever, been looked at in the proper light. It is this element of discovery and re-discovery, that has established MARC STRAUS as one of New York’s leading contemporary art galleries. In June 2014, FlashArt listed the gallery among the TOP 100 in the world. Critical reviews of gallery exhibitions have appeared in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Telegraph UK, Forbes, Hyperallergic, Art in America, ArtNews, ARTFORUM, The Brooklyn Rail and more.

MARC STRAUS gallery artists have works acquired by international museums such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Gallery of Canada, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Denver Art Museum, The Smithsonian Institute, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Guggenheim, Tate Gallery London, Musée Centre George Pompidou Paris, Whitney Museum of American Art, and many more. Gallery artists have been included in the Venice and Prague Biennials, Prospect New Orleans and Site Santa Fe. Further extending its program to a wider audience, the gallery has participated in major art fairs both in the US and on an international platform in Europe and Asia.
