Hamilton’s David Korins & More Celebrate Americana Week

By Sotheby's

NEW YORK – On 17 January, Sotheby’s New York was packed with an enthusiastic crowd who came to celebrate Americana Week, proudly supported by Majestic Steel. Co-hosting the reception was Hamilton set designer David Korins, who created an exhibition concept inspired by the American flag created exclusively for Sotheby’s Americana Week. Earlier that evening, Korins spoke with Michael Paulson, Pulitzer Prize winner and theater reporter for The New York Times for a Facebook Live conversation in our saleroom. While viewing furniture, silver, manuscripts, paintings and more from the six featured auctions, which take place from 18–21 January, guests enjoyed champagne and live music by a three-piece jazz band. For pictures from the patriotic evening, click ahead.
