Biography

Wendy Lin is the Chairman of Sotheby’s Asia, where she leads the strategic expansion of Sotheby’s business across the region and contributes to the company’s global growth.

She first joined Sotheby’s in 1997 to support the company’s expansion in Taiwan and later held senior leadership roles in the luxury, finance and fine art advisory sectors – including at Chanel, where she advanced the fine jewellery and watches business in Taiwan. Wendy returned to Sotheby’s in 2013 as Managing Director of Sotheby’s Taiwan, was appointed Deputy Chairman of Asia in 2018, and became Chairman of Sotheby’s Asia in January 2023.

With over 25 years of senior leadership experience in the luxury and art industries and her extensive client relationships, Wendy is recognised for her deep expertise, strategic vision and influential role in shaping the art market in Asia. She has built long-standing partnerships with top collectors, institutions and industry leaders across the region, and her client-focused approach has been pivotal to Sotheby’s success, playing a key role in securing major consignments and achieving landmark sales.

Wendy holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, a Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
