Biography
Rebecca Lynn is a seasoned leader in the auction industry with over 20 years of experience, including 14 years at Sotheby’s where she held key roles such as Business Director and General Manager of North American Global Fine Arts. In her current role as Global Director in the Major Collections Division, Rebecca plays a pivotal role in shaping strategy and developing talent across several specialized departments, including Furniture and Decorative Arts, African & Oceanic Art, Islamic Art, Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, Russian Art, and 20th Century Middle Eastern Art.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has contributed to some of the most notable single-owner sales at Sotheby’s, including The Wolf Family Collection, The Franz and Margarethe Oppenheimer Collection of Important Meissen Porcelain, and The Aso O. Tavitian Collection.
Rebecca began her career as an accessory designer after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Art History from New York University, merging her design sensibilities with a deep understanding of the arts to guide her path in the auction world.
