Biography

Patricia de Fougerolle, after graduating from the Ecole du Louvre, obtained a doctorate thesis in history of art at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. She inaugurated her career in the book market in 1987 at a prestigious Parisian bookseller.

After defending her thesis in 1994, she joined the Musée de la Chasse et de Nature as curator. She prepared a number of exhibitions and played an active part in writing the catalogs. In 1997, she was commissioned by the Musée de la Toile de Jouy to mount an exhibition on "Hunting in the Toile de Jouy". She has published in a number of magazines and exhibition catalogs and has been managing the restoration of a 15th and 16th-century historic monument for almost fifteen years. As a specialist in the books and manuscripts department at Christie's from 2002 to 2017, she contributed to a large number of sales of prestigious collections.

In 2018 she joined the books department of Sotheby's in Paris as a senior specialist and Director and participated actively in the sales of the libraries of François Chaponnière, comtes de Ribes, Jean-Paul Morin, Hubert Heilbronn, Jorge Ortiz Linares, couple of bibliophiles, Loïc Malle, Alain Schimel and Hubert Guerrand-Hermès (Autour de la duchesse de Berry).
