Biography

Nadia Abbas joined Sotheby's in 2000 and was appointed Director and Head of the Cologne Office in 2015. She works closely with the London and New York offices with a focus on Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art. Over the course of her career, she has developed strong relationships with important collectors throughout Germany.

Nadia Abbas played a significant role in the major house sales of Monrepos Castle in Ludwigsburg in 2000 and the Royal House of Hanover in 2005, the biggest house sale ever held in Germany. She was instrumental in coordinating the sale of the Helga and Walther Lauffs collection offered in 2008 which sold for $140 million.

Nadia Abbas studied History of Art, American Literature and Psychology and obtained a Master’s degree in History of Art from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-University, Bonn.
