Kunter Kula is Assistant Vice President, Senior Account Manager in the Valuations department at Sotheby's, leading the Contemporary Art focused team in New York. He specializes in working with collectors and their fiduciaries on appraisals for collection management, collateral loan and estate planning purposes. As a primary point of contact, he helps clients identify strategic opportunities to leverage and develop deliberate, legacy collections.
Prior to joining Sotheby’s, he worked closely with a prominent Swiss collector and their foundation, where he managed an important European art collection. During his tenure, he has also administered philanthropic projects with the New Museum of Contemporary Art, Swiss Institute and the Africa Center. He began his career in primary market sales at Sperone Westwater Gallery.
Born in Istanbul, Kunter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Art History from Hamilton College, and has also studied at University College London. He has successfully completed the coursework and examination in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
