Kelsey Macpherson

  • Specialist | Deputy Director

Biography

Kelsey Macpherson joined Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Department in 2016 as an assistant in New York, before moving to London in 2024. In her current role as Specialist, she is responsible for research and writing on the Evening Sale catalogues, and works with the sale teams in both New York and London in sourcing works of art for sale.

In her near-decade at Sotheby’s, Kelsey has been directly involved in many of the highest-value single-owner collection sales of the 21st century, including The Macklowe Collection in 2021 and 2022, and the collections of Emily Fisher Landau, David M. Solinger, and Mo Ostin, among others. She brings particular expertise in American post-war and Abstract Expressionist painting from her role as a Specialist for the Modern Evening Sale in New York; she also brings experience in marketing and social media from her pre-Sotheby’s career in public relations.
