Julia Rickmeyer has an art historical and legal background and has worked in the field of provenance research and restitution for almost 15 years.
She previously worked at the Art Loss Register, before becoming a member of Sotheby's Restitution Team in London between 2011–2017. After this she joined the Rijksmuseum as a provenance researcher and later worked as an independent provenance consultant for international private collectors, restitution lawyers and public institutions before rejoining the Sotheby’s Restitution Team in October 2021.
