Jane A. Levine is the Chief Global Compliance Counsel and Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs, and is based in New York. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Jane was a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she worked with the FBI’s Art Crime Team. Jane’s legal experience includes civil and commercial litigation. She also teaches a seminar at Columbia Law School on Art and Cultural Heritage Law. In 2011, Jane was appointed by President Obama to serve as a member of the President’s Cultural Property Advisory Committee. Jane enjoys writing and speaking publicly about art and cultural heritage law. She received a B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from New York University School of Law.
