Biography
Since joining Sotheby’s in 2010, Hermione Sharp has held positions in specialist departments as well as in a post sale services, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the auction business. Ms. Sharp joined the Photographs department as a Cataloguer in 2015, and spearheads the department’s cataloguing efforts for both live and online auctions. In addition, she acts as a key researcher, coordinates catalogue production, and contributes to the department's appraisal efforts. Prior to working at Sotheby’s, Ms. Sharp was employed in the curatorial offices of a prominent New York City private collector and has a broad knowledge of 19th and 20th century art.
Ms. Sharp graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and in Spanish Studies and has completed additional coursework at Hunter College.
