Biography
Grace Kortlander is an Assistant Vice President, Director of Operations in the Valuations department at Sotheby’s. She works with collectors and fiduciaries, managing complex valuations for the purposes of sale, estate planning, charitable contribution, collateral loan, government indemnity and insurance.
Prior to joining Sotheby’s in 2015, she worked in the insurance industry and has also previously worked in galleries, art advisories and museums such as the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Institution.
Grace holds a Master’s degree in Art and Museum Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the College of the Holy Cross. She also studied Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and has successfully completed the coursework and examination in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
