Biography

Chapin Carson joined Sotheby's in 1981. Over the course of the next several years, she worked in the Trusts & Estates Division, ultimately running the Appraisals department.

In 1996, she became Director of the newly created Special Sales department, and, in this capacity, was responsible for the iconic sales of property from the collections of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

For more than a decade, Ms. Carson has worked with private clients on high-end transactions both privately and at auction. In the last five years, Ms. Carson has been responsible for $200 million worth of business for Sotheby's, including the sale of the Robert F. Kennedy Emancipation Proclamation.

Additionally, she regularly works in Boston, focusing on business development opportunities and appraisal projects at the John F. Kennedy Library.
