Cyrille Cohen has been with Sotheby’s France since 2007 and has 20 years of experience in the art market both in France and internationally.
Mr Cohen is a close advisor to several important French collectors of Modern Art and of Surrealist works in particular. His client contacts for both Contemporary Art and African Art have proven to be indispensible in Sotheby’s promotion of the Foundation’s property and include an extremely affluent and private individual with an eclectic collection of Fine and Decorative Arts. In December 2007, this collector expanded his collection to include an Exceptional Kwélé Masque, Gabon, for €536,250 (presale estimate: €220,000–280,000).
Mr Cohen is the former Director of the Galerie ArtCurial and former owner of the Paris auction house Calmels-Cohen, where he organised and conducted the legendary Paris sales of the Estate of André Breton and the Atelier Hans Arp.
