Biography
Since November 2021, Bettina Beckert, specialist for modern and contemporary art, leads the Sotheby's location in Munich as Head of Office.
After completing her studies in art history, Bettina Beckert began her professional career in a leading German auction house nearly 30 years ago.
For many years, she worked for Galerie Thomas, Munich, and curated numerous exhibitions as Head of the Columbus Art Foundation in Ravensburg.
In addition, she worked as a freelance editor for the Art & Art Market department of leading German business newspaper and published many articles and contributions in art publications.
Over the course of her career, Bettina Beckert has established close relationships with major private collectors and clients of modern and contemporary art, whom she has advised and continues to advise on all aspects of buying and selling with her in-depth knowledge and passion for art as well as her extensive experience.
Bettina Beckert studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and holds a Magister Artium in Art History, Modern History and English Literature.
