Amanda Ross is an Associate Specialist in Post-War & Contemporary Art and a dedicated member of Sotheby’s Private Sales team, having spent her entire career at Sotheby’s in New York. During her time in Private Sales, she has played an instrumental role in the publication of Icons: 100 Extraordinary Objects from Sotheby’s History with Phaidon, as well as the accompanying traveling exhibition, Icons: Abu Dhabi and Icons: Back to Madison. She has also helped curate exhibitions in New York and in Sotheby’s regional gallery spaces, as well as coordinated private sales worldwide. Amanda has progressed through roles at Sotheby’s, from Administrator to Coordinator to Cataloguer, before assuming her current position as a Specialist on the team. She has also successfully completed the coursework and examination in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Art History, with a minor in Cinema and Media Studies, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude.
