Laura Wnek joined Sotheby’s in 2019 and serves as Senior Vice President, Head of Department for the Fiduciary Client Group, where she works closely with collectors and fiduciaries on the sale and valuation of personal property. During her time at Sotheby’s, Laura has been directly involved in the sale of many significant collections and estates, including the Estate of Ambassador and Mrs. Felix Rohatyn, the Collection of Marylou Whitney, and the Estate of Alexis Gregory.

Before joining Sotheby’s, Laura was Deputy General Counsel at the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, where she worked on a broad range of strategic, programmatic, legislative and policy initiatives to fund and support nonprofits arts organizations and cultural institutions. Prior to working for the City of New York, Laura was an associate at Herrick Feinstein LLP, where she worked on complex commercial litigation and art law matters for collectors, galleries, museums and auction houses. Laura graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and received her JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, with a concentration in Intellectual Property.
