Orange and Blue Skies

Sotheby’s is proud to present NBA Auctions Premier: NBA Cup Finals, featuring game worn jerseys from the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup Champions, the New York Knicks.

In Las Vegas, under the brightest lights of the NBA Cup stage, New York delivered a championship performance, capturing the franchise’s first NBA Cup title and cementing a defining moment in modern Knicks history.

Since its debut in the 2023–24 NBA season, the Emirates NBA Cup has breathed new life into the early portion of the league calendar for both fans and players alike. For fans, it offers the chance to watch their favorite stars compete in games with higher stakes than a typical regular-season matchup. For players, it provides an opportunity to take part in meaningful contests against top competition—games that can serve as an early barometer for success.

“The Cup is special, you saw tonight here in Vegas, Semifinals, Finals, it brought out the best of all the teams.”
- Karl-Anthony Towns in the post-game press conference, speaking on the impact of the Emirates NBA Cup

The NBA has given special attention to these games as well. Group stage matchups are played on alternate home-court designs that have drawn significant interest from fans and players. In addition, the semifinal and final rounds are held in Las Vegas, giving the event a heightened sense of drama.

NBA Cup Patch

Since the tournament began, the NBA has added special patches to the jerseys worn in the Semifinal and Final games. The patch sits on the back neckline of the jersey and features a replica of the Emirates Cup trophy. A fan favorite, the jersey patches have become a distinctive mark of special events on the league calendar.

High Stakes

In previous iterations, several teams that were initially viewed as surprise contenders in the tournament went on to demonstrate lasting impact. In 2023, the Indiana Pacers made an unexpected run to the Cup Final (then known as the In-Season Tournament) before advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals later that season. In 2024, the Houston Rockets emerged as another surprise semifinalist, with their young roster ultimately securing the No. 2 seed in a highly competitive Western Conference. This season, four of the hottest teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences battled for the Emirates NBA Cup
crown.

Semifinals

New York Knicks (132) vs. Orlando Magic (120)

The first matchup saw the Knicks face off against the Magic. The Knicks, an Eastern Conference favorite, found their rhythm early and never slowed down. Big performances from Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns secured their spot in the Finals and a chance to bring a trophy back to New York for the first time in over 50 years.

San Antonio Spurs (111) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (109)

The second semifinal matchup featured two of the hottest teams in the NBA, as the Spurs squared off against the Thunder. The Thunder entered the game with a 24–1 record, while the Spurs had emerged as one of the league’s early-season surprises. San Antonio relied on balanced scoring, anchored by superstar Victor Wembanyama, who finished with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

Finals

New York Knicks (124) vs. San Antonio Spurs (113)

The Knicks and Spurs met in Las Vegas for the Emirates NBA Cup Final, showcasing a matchup of established contenders and rising talent. Despite a strong effort from Victor Wembanyama and the young Spurs, New York’s experience and depth were too much to overcome, as the Knicks secured the championship.
