Pauline Karpidas is one of the art world’s most highly sophisticated and international collectors, with an appreciation of art rooted to her core. Following in the footsteps of Peggy Guggenheim and Dominique de Menil before her, Pauline has surrounded herself with artists and built an extraordinary collection through friendship and collaboration.

This Autumn, Sotheby’s will be offering works from Pauline’s magical home on the Greek island of Hydra. Initially intended as a sanctuary for her family’s summers, Pauline transformed the mansion into a temple to art and design. Through Pauline’s influence, Hydra – an island that has long attracted creatives – became an unparalleled getaway for artists, collectors and curators, who were hosted there for over two decades of unforgettable art-filled weekends.
