he Magnificent Cellar Of A Gentleman concludes a strong year for Sotheby’s Wine in Hong Kong, presenting another spectacular Single Owner auction that will be offered live at our Chater House Maison, on Saturday 13 December.
With a total Low Estimate exceeding HK$17,000,000, the wines offered here comprise just a portion of a larger, incredibly special collection, one that has been curated with meticulous attention to detail over more-than two decades. The sale is focused on only the best-of-the-best, with particularly impressive concentration of back-vintage wines with perfect provenance from DRC, Liger-Belair, Salon, Krug, Dom Perignon, and the last century’s greatest vintages of all the First Growths.
The discreet gentleman who has assembled this singular collection has been known to some of Sotheby’s team for many years. He is a true wine lover, who has made an enormous effort to build one of the best cellars that we know of, driven solely by his passion and with minimal fanfare. The collection has always been sourced with an almost obsessive focus on provenance and direct purchasing. Almost all of the wines across this impeccable cellar were purchased from the primary market, on direct allocation from each producer’s agent in both the UK and Hong Kong. Thanks to this dedicated collector’s privileged longstanding relationships, and remarkable efforts to regularly travel to Burgundy and Bordeaux himself to spend time with the greatest winemakers, these allocations have been impressively maintained over decades.

本場拍品的低估價總值超過17,000,000港元，然而上拍佳釀只佔總量龐巨的珍貴窖藏之一小部分，藏主歷經逾二十載精心蒐集，酒藏風格無不顯示藏主對細節的追求。拍賣聚焦於頂尖名酒，以來自羅曼尼康帝、Liger-Belair、Salon、Krug、Dom Perignon等名莊、來源卓越的陳年佳釀為核心，並呈所有一級酒莊於上世紀醞釀的上佳年份酒款。
本場拍品出自一位為人低調的紳士藏家，蘇富比團隊與他認識多年，親見他耗費多年心力打造如此獨一無二的精彩窖藏。他是真正鍾愛葡萄酒的酒藏家，憑藉純粹的熱情，以極其低調的方式傾注巨大心血，建造目前大家所知最頂尖的窖藏之一。他也秉持著近乎執著的精神，專注於酒品的來源，堅持直接採購。因此，這個盛大窖藏的絕大部分佳釀皆由藏主透過酒莊在英國和香港的代理商獲得配額，直接在一級市場購入。藏主熱誠投入，與多方建立長久真摯的關係，並親赴布艮地和波爾多與傑出釀酒師交流，是以數十年來能夠保留直接購買佳釀的珍貴配額。

Provenance
The wines in this collection were acquired almost entirely through direct allocations from leading producers’ agents in the UK and Hong Kong, selected with uncompromising attention to authenticity and traceability. Strengthened by the collector’s longstanding relationships and his regular visits to Burgundy and Bordeaux, the cellar reflects two decades of careful sourcing and consistently impeccable provenance.
Storage
All wines have been stored in a private temperature-controlled cellar from the moment of purchase, before being transferred to Sotheby’s chamber at Crown Wine Cellars.
Shipping
The entire collection was packed by Sotheby’s Specialists and delivered to Crown Wine Cellars by a dedicated temperature-controlled truck. All wines were inspected subsequently at Crown Wine Cellars.

儲存
所有藏酒自購藏起即存放於專業恆溫的私人酒窖內，之後再轉移至蘇富比於皇冠酒窖的專屬酒房。
檢驗、包裝與運送
整個收藏由蘇富比專家團隊進行包裝，並以配備恆溫設施的貨車運送至皇冠酒窖。所有葡萄酒其後均於皇冠酒窖由蘇富比香港洋酒部團隊完成檢驗。
