Drawn from landmark Sotheby’s sales including the cellars of Don Stott, Park Smith, The Magnolia Collection and more, the selection brings together bottles of exceptional pedigree from some of the most storied provenances ever to pass through our rooms. Highlights include Gentaz‑Dervieux Côte Brune Cuvée Réservée 1985, Chave Cuvée Cathelin 1998, d’Auvenay Bonnes Mares 1996, and Krug Clos du Mesnil 1981, among many other rare and historic offerings found throughout the sale.

The sale opens with a rare group of Rhône selections, beginning with a two‑bottle lot of Gentaz‑Dervieux Côte Brune Cuvée Réservée 1985, followed by Noël Verset Cornas in 1985 and 1995. Another legend appears in a twelve‑bottle lot of Henri Bonneau Réserve des Célestins 2001, leading into a span of Chave highlighted by a three‑bottle lot of 1998 Cuvée Cathelin. Further Rhône offerings include La Mouline and  La Landonne in the legendary 1983 vintage and spanning across the 2000s.

The Burgundy selections continue with exceptional depth and pedigree, beginning with DRC La Tâche in both a 2007 magnum and a six‑bottle OWC of 2010. Additional Domaine offerings include Richebourg across 1993, 1995, 1998 and 2000, Romanée‑Saint‑Vivant 2005, Echézeaux 1988, and Montrachet in 2010 and 2011. The sale also features a six‑bottle lot of Leroy Romanée‑Saint‑Vivant 1990 and a six‑bottle lot of d’Auvenay Bonnes Mares 1996. Further highlights include two magnum assortment cases from Liger‑Belair in the 2006 and 2013 vintages, a three‑bottle lot of La Romanée 2010, magnums of René Engel Grands Echézeaux from 1996 and 1999, and a six‑bottle lot of Roumier Les Amoureuses 2010, among many other notable offerings.

Champagne follows with an exceptional range of offerings, beginning with Krug Clos du Mesnil in 1981, 2000 and 2003, a six‑bottle lot of Krug Collection 1985, a Jeroboam of Krug 1995 and magnums of Krug 1996. Loire is represented by a strong group from Clos Rougeard, including Saumur‑Champigny Rouge from 2009 to 2013, Poyeux from 2008 to 2012, and Brézé in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Moving east, the sale features an impressive twelve‑bottle lot of Didier Dagueneau Silex dating back to 1995.

Italy is represented with a formidable range of benchmark producers and vintages, beginning with Giacomo Conterno Monfortino across 1971, 1998 and 2013. The selection continues with a six‑bottle lot of Giacosa Santo Stefano di Neive Riserva 1990, followed by Bartolo Mascarello spanning 1990 to 2001 and a twelve‑bottle lot of Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo 2001. Further highlights include Masseto dating back to the 1980s, and an eleven‑bottle lot of the legendary Sassicaia 1985. Additional standouts include Soldera 1993 and 1994 and Pergole Torte 1997, 1998 and 1999, rounding out a powerful and historic Italian offering.

California concludes the selection with a compelling range of benchmark producers and vintages, beginning with Harlan 1997 and 2007 offering a ten‑year retrospective. The offering continues with Schrader CCS and RBS from the 2000s, Dunn Howell Mountain 1992 and 1995, Heitz Martha’s Vineyard 1985 and 1987, and Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill and Gravelly Meadow from the 2000s. Verticals of Shafer Hillside Select spanning 1994 to 2013 and a broad range of Aubert Chardonnay across the 2000s and 2010s add further depth. The California offerings are punctuated by multiple lots of Sine Qua Non from 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2015, rounding out a powerful and diverse New World selection.
