Description

Petrus 1983

Pomerol

Levels into the neck, bin-soiled and wrinkled labels, 1 heavily torn and partially missing label, 4 nicked labels, scuffed capsules, packed in 6 magnum owc

At 40 years old, and on my birthday (wish I was that age again.....), an incredible nose of coffee, blueberries and deep spiciness. On the palate, the motif is a compote of plums with cinnamon - and the mocha persists. Silky smooth, refined class and with a mega Petrus punch of cherries on the finish. Maybe we caught this at its absolute apogee, but who knows with Petrus always working its wizardry. An extraordinary manifestation of Merlot. If Petrus had a voice, it would be the purring bass of Kurt Moll! Serena Sutcliffe, MW

6 mags (cn, owc)
