Ellen Land-Weber (American, b. 1943) Ellen Land-Weber is known for producing straightforward black-and-white portraits and still lifes, as well as collage and color Xeroxes. She was one of 24 photographers commissioned by the Seagram company to document US county courthouses as part of the 1976 Bicentennial. She also documented the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Refuge as part of the photography collective Water in the West. Land-Weber’s work has been exhibited at the Richard J. Daley Center, Chicago; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Morris Graves Museum of Art, Eureka, CA; and FotoFest, Houston, among others. Her work is held in numerous permanent collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.; the Museum of Fine Art, Houston; and the Art Institute of Chicago.
