Clyde Butcher (American, b. 1942) Clyde Butcher is a large-format photographer known for capturing the landscapes of Florida. Butcher began his career in color photography before switching to large-scale black-and-white landscape photography after the death of his son. Today his work in the wild areas of Florida represents one of the best environmental arguments for preserving what remains of the state's rich natural heritage. Butcher’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Florida History, Tallahassee; the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, FL; the National Gallery of Art, Prague, Czech Republic; and the Museum of the Rockies, Bozeman, MT to name a few. In 2005, Butcher received a lifetime achievement award from the North American Nature Photography Association.
