In 1927, Charles Lindbergh completed the first flight over the Atlantic Ocean by making a direct flight from New York to Paris.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this extraordinary performance, Longines produced a high quality limited edition piece paying tribute to the hour angle watch that was designed by Lindbergh and commercialised in 1932.
Like the original model, the watch has a large 47.5mm diameter with a big ball-shaped crown to use it very easily even when wearing gloves. The main dial is fixed and made in enamel while the manual winding jumbo movement, cal L878.4, has a beautiful architecture, in direct line with Longines tradition. The hinged back is decorated with the winged hourglass logo and opens to reveal to movement protected by a glass dust cover.
This stainless steel version was produced in 1000 examples and this specimen, preserved in most attractive condition comes with its full suite of accessories.
