This 1924 American silent film was directed by Raoul Walsh. Douglas Fairbanks produced, wrote the story and stars in the film. The story is an adaptation of One Thousand and One Nights, in which a thief falls in love with the daughter of the Caliph of Baghdad. It is understood to have been Fairbanks's favourite film, which suited his athletic build. This was one of the most expensive films of the 1920s, with its magical special effects and lavish Arabian-style sets.
