This South Korean film was directed by Bong Joon-ho. The cast includes Song Kang-ho, Byun Hee-bong, Park Hae-il, Bae Doona and Go Ah-sung. The film tells the story of a monster who appears from the Han River in Seoul and starts attacking people. The monster kidnaps a man's daughter, and him and his family do all that they can to rescue her. The film, which was highly anticipated following the success of Bong Joon-ho's film Memories of Murder (2003) was very well received and popular in South Korea. The film won a number of awards, including Best Film at the Asian Film Awards and at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
