This psychological thriller was the English language film debut of director Park Chan-wook. The cast includes Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode. After the death of India Stoker's (Mia Wasikowska) father, her father's brother - Uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode) - who she has never heard of before, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Nicole Kidman). India suspects that this charming stranger has ulterior motives, but instead of being outraged by this, she becomes infatuated with him.
