Artist: Walt Howarth (1928-2008)

Unframed: 17 x 12 in. (43 x 30 cm)

Walter Howarth was a British illustrator, best known for his work on comic annuals. He was commissioned to produce artwork based on the Sean Connery Bond films for use in jigsaw puzzles by Arrow Games in 1967. No jigsaw based on the current artwork is known. Howarth continued to produce artwork for private commissions until the early 2000s.


Doctor No was the very first James Bond film, and paved the way for a hugely successful series of films, which continues today. This film was produced by Eon Productions, directed by Terence Young and stars Sean Connery and Ursula Andress. It was based on the 1958 novel of the same name by Ian Fleming.
