oval, raised on four pierced shell feet headed by chinoiserie masks supporting a pierced apron of foliate and chinoiserie cartouches, the sides pierced in chinoiserie patterns, the rim applied with foliate scrolls and two chinoiserie masks at each end, the swing handle pierced in a chinoiserie pattern centering a foliate cartouche and supported on twin caryatids, the center of the basket with contemporary arms within a chinoiserie cartouche, marked on side of basket, the base engraved with scratch weight 50=15
