Arabic manuscript on paper, 72 leaves, plus 3 fly leaves, 13 lines to the page written in naskh in black ink, keywords picked out in red, verses separated by gold roundels with red and blue dots, within gold and black rules, further text divisions marked by gold and polychrome illuminated panels, ff.1b and 13b each with a gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece, ff.11b and 12a with full page illustrations of Mecca and Medina, marginal commentary in black and red naskh, in gilt brown leather binding with flap, cream paper doublures

The colophon records the scribe al-Sayyid Uthman, known as Wahbi (Vehbi), as a student of Abu Bakr Rashid Efendi known as katib al-saray al-sultani ('calligrapher of the Sultan’s palace').
