An ichimai uchidashi kabuto [single plate helmet with repoussé]

Edo - Meiji period, 19th century 


the single plate russet iron bowl of tall, conical form, hammered in uchidashi [repoussé] with a three-clawed dragon among clouds, three-stage tehen kanamono floret, russet iron mabisashi [peak] and fukigaeshi [turnbacks], single plate russet iron shikoro [neck guard] 


The bowl to peak: 29.5 cm., 11¾ in. 

The shikoro to peak: 34.4 cm., 13⅝ in.
