青玉質，帶石皮，光素無紋，打磨細膩，寶光蘊含。 

英國巴斯東亞藝術博物館藏一件大汶口文化小玉錛，其玉質與本件玉環頗似，而形制又近乎本件玉錛，見 Angus Forsyth著，《Jades from China》，巴斯，2001年，編號53。
