A1 poster, unfolded and linen backed, unframed: 34 x 24 in. (86 x 61 cm)
This was the first adaptation of the film starring Fox Studio's biggest female star of the silent era and one of cinema's early sex symbols Theda Bara, nicknamed "The Vamp."
To-date no other example of this poster is known to have surfaced.
This biographical drama has been a favourite subject of studios throughout film history, with notable leading ladies playing Cleopatra. These include Theda Bara in 1917, Claudette Colbert in 1934 and Elizabeth Taylor in 1963.
