Patek Philippe

Nicknamed 'Calatravone', Italian for big Calatrava, reference 570 had a greater diameter than reference 96 which it had come to replace. In production between 1938 and 1972, reference 570 was characterised by its large flat bezel and thick lugs that gave it a unique presence on the wrist. Produced with many dial variations and mostly cased in yellow gold, occasionally Patek Philippe would produce specimens in stainless steel, platinum, white gold or pink gold, such as the present example. 

Despite the long production line of the 570, some iterations are rarer and consequentially more desired. This is the case of the present watch. Within the myriad dial variations, the reference can either feature small or centre seconds, like the present watch which is powered by caliber 27 SC, rarely seen in pink gold examples. The singularity of the present watch is further enhanced by its very rare import marks stamped on top of the lugs which in combination with its beautiful well-preserved proportions makes it a unique piece and a perfect addition to any ambitious watch collection. Furthermore, the watch comes with a later rare 20 mm tube riveted bracelet in matching pink gold manufactured by the iconic Gay Frères.
