Offering another way to read time, the mystery dial remains one of the more fascinating designs. The concept of a mystery dial was made famous by Cartier with its celebrated mystery table clocks. A mystery dial is any watch where the hands seem to move in an inscrutable way. The present timepiece has two round diamond markers placed on two different discs, layered on top of each other to act as the hour and minute hands. The larger diamond marker indicating the hours and smaller diamond marker indicating the minutes.
The Galaxy mystery watch was the only collaboration in which both the names Vacheron Constantin and LeCoultre appeared together on a product. This creation was for the U.S market, bearing the import stamp on the movement and cased in 14k white gold. U.S. market piece were often cased in 14k as opposed to 18k gold, which was more common in Europe.
