potted with a deep U-shaped body rising from a short straight foot, the exterior painted with lotus strapwork divided by a bat suspending a gilt wan symbol, between a ruyi border and lotus lappets, all reserved on a rich ruby-red ground, the interior and base enamelled turquoise, the latter inscribed in iron-red with a six-character seal mark reserved on white, Japanese wood box
