約十七世紀 藏傳鐵鎏金矛

The gilt iron blade of the ritual lance (shakti) is finely engraved with flame designs, the tapering shaft with a scrolling vine motif, with the ball hub left un-gilded. Holes adjacent to the rim of the shaft would have held pins to secure a wooden handle. The lance is the weapon of a number of guardian spirits and meditation deities such as Kalachakra. In Tibetan ritual the lance is used to impale false notions and ignorance.
