約十八世紀 藏傳鐵局部鎏金及鎏金銅寶劍

The iron blade of the ritual sword (khadga) with Lantsha inscription in damascene gold, a flaming finial design at the tip, and with a gilded copper vajra-hilt. Compare a Tibetan and a Nepalese khandga in Nathalie Bazin, Rituels tibétains: Visions secrètes du V Dalaï Lama, Paris, 2002, figs. 104, 105. The sword is a protective symbol of Buddhism and the weapon of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom, that cuts through veils of ignorance.
