First introduced in 1994 as part of A. Lange & Söhne’s inaugural modern collection, the Lange 1 quickly became an icon of contemporary watchmaking. Measuring 38.5 mm in diameter, its asymmetrical dial layout was revolutionary at the time, showcasing an off-center hour and minute display, running seconds, outsize date, and a power reserve indicator—a design that has since become synonymous with the brand. Over the years, the Lange 1 has evolved through numerous iterations, including the elegant Little Lange 1, presented here in a perfectly proportioned 36.8 mm rose gold case with a silvery-white guilloché dial.

Introduced in 2017, the present reference 182.030 features a dial crafted from a solid gold plate, adorned with intricate guilloché engraving that adds remarkable depth and texture to its silvery-white surface. The familiar hour and minute dial remains positioned to the left, balanced by the outsize date and power reserve indicator on the right. Unique to this model is the moon-phase display, beautifully integrated into the seconds sub-dial at 5 o’clock. The moon phase itself is exquisitely executed, featuring a matching silvery background adorned with a radiant rose gold moon and stars, harmonizing perfectly with the warmth of the case.
