Vintage NASA “Red Number” chromogenic color photograph, 10 by 8 inches, “This Paper Manufactured by Kodak” watermark to verso. NASA image ID “NASA S-73-37243” printed in upper left margin in red; minor toning, tape to verso.
The Skylab 4 mission began on 16 November 1973, when Commander Gerald Carr, Pilot Edward Gibson, and Pilot William Pogue were launched on a Saturn IB rocket from the Kennedy Space Center. The mission lasted 84 days, one hour and 16 minutes, and a total of 6,051 astronaut-utilization hours were clocked by the crew, who performed a range of scientific experiments.
