Skylab 3 was the second crewed mission to the first American space station, Skylab. The mission began on 28 July 1973, when the Saturn IB rocket launched, carrying Commander Alan Bean, Science Pilot Owen Garriott, and Pilot Jack Lousma. The mission lasted 59 days, 11 hours and 9 minutes, and a total of 1,084.7 astronaut-utilization hours were clocked by the crew, who carried out various scientific experiments.
