Description
Freddie Mercury's yellow & black embroidered jacket, & white wrap-around top, worn recording 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 1975
a black fitted jacket with Nehru collar, pleated at the shoulders, the black rayon ground heavily embroidered in yellow thread with a flower design, fastening at the front with seven black fabric buttons and corresponding fabric loops, unlined, unlabelled; with a white nylon short-sleeve wrap-around top with a lightly frilled edge, unlabelled – Roger Taylor also wore this jacket during the same period.

This jacket was worn frequently by Freddie in the mid-1970s, most notably for the recording of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ at Rockfield Studios, Monmouthshire, August, 1975.
Freddie is photographed wearing these two items of clothing together on numerous significant occasions including at Trident Studios recording Sheer Heart Attack. He also wore this jacket with other tops in 1974 and 1975, captured in photographs taken by Mick Rock.
