Original watercolour illustration produced for the 1940 series of American Weekly covers, 'Seven Tales of Arthur's Court', published 3rd March 1940.. The other tales illustrated were: Arthur finding Excalibur, Tristan and Isolde (see lot 280), Morgan steals the sheath of Excalibur, The Death of Galahad (see lot 281), Merlin trapped under the Rock, and Lancelot and Agravain (see lot 283).
